I’m really excited to present to you my newest sewing pattern, the Needle Pouch. This handy little pouch is the second pattern I’m publishing under LAOLA patterns, the pattern brand I created together with my friend Alex Roda. As always you can expect a very detailed sewing pattern with in depth instructions + A4/US letter, A0 and no printer pattern sheet options. The pattern comes in English and in Spanish.
The first pattern we published earlier this year was the Project Bag, a bag that you can take anywhere to have your knitting close by. I always knew that this bag needs a needle pouch to form a funcional (and cute!) duo so here we are, the pattern is now ready and you can find both of them at our Etsy shop.
To be honest I thought that the pattern for this “little” project would take way less time to finish off. And I’m not even talking about the fact that I actually had it practically ready somewhere in June but then it was put aside for another five months! Once we began working on it again there were soooo many changes and going back and forth during and after the testing process. I’d like to thank everyone who participated in the testing process, your comments and ideas really made this pattern a lot better one.
I designed this pattern with interchangeable circular knitting needles in mind (both the needles and the cables have separate pockets) but you can of course use this base for so many other things. As all the compartments can actually be changed according to your measurements you can use this roll pouch for a lot of tools.
@maikosturea made it for her crochet needles, @muntanec is using it for regular circular knitting needles and @lalchimisteartisane uses some of the slots for her double pointed needles. I also really loved the version made by @itawistudio as she totally customized the pouch to make a travel tool kit exactly according to her needs.
I love to think about this pattern as an empty canvas that you can make you own…both by combining your favorite prints and solids and by altering the pockets as you like.
