Calling for spring! This simple bralette pattern paired with a sweet flower mesh definitely brings me all the good weather vibes. I had my eye on this bralette pattern by Sew You Happy since she released it and I thought it would be great to try out one of the floral fabrics I have at the shop.
These cute fabrics are really lightweight and just perfect for making lingerie. Some of these are polyamide knits and some are stretch mesh…all of them are super soft! A couple of other makes with these are for example this Black Beauty and this Mara bralette. Under the kit listing there’s an option to get it for a bra or a bralette, you can find all the kits here.
For the Liz bralette I used the floral mesh that has very subtle colors and depending on what fabric you pair it with, the floral pattern is more or less seen.
The pattern is an easy one and you can use a variety of fabrics to make it. I chose that lightweight mesh and I lined it with a soft viscose jersey knit. You can of course use any other knit fabric, line it with power mesh etc. Or it would also make a great swim top or a sports bra.
There’s a version with a regular side seam or this overlap option that I chose. I used a wide 20 mm wide fold over elastic (FOE) to cover all the edges but the pattern can be also made with regular lingerie elastic. I think that FOE looks very cute especially when making the overlap version.
The pattern was easy to work with and the fit is really good. I got confused a bit when tracing my size as there were many lines on top of each other but well, it wasn’t the end of the world. In general I find it a very versatile pattern that can be used in so many ways and I should definitely make a sports top with it!
