Summer Sewing Camp for Kids
This summer, give your child a creative and fun experience they'll never forget! At Studio Costura's Kids Sewing Camp, children aged 9 and up will learn how to sew using a machine from zero, gaining practical skills, confidence, and the joy of making something with their own hands.
You’ll be amazed at what kids can create in just one week when they have the right guidance, tools, and a fun environment to explore their creativity.
why sewing?
Sewing encourages creativity, patience, problem-solving, and fine motor skills. Kids feel proud wearing or using what they've made—plus, it’s just plain fun!

A field trip to a local fabric store to learn about textiles and how to choose fabric

How the Week is Organized
Each week at the Kids Sewing Camp is thoughtfully structured to guide students from their first stitches to creating a full project—while having fun and building confidence along the way.
Monday & Tuesday
We begin by getting comfortable with the sewing machine. Kids learn how it works, explore its possibilities, and start with simple, beginner-friendly projects. These first days help us understand each student’s level and interests.
Wednesday – Fabric Store Field Trip
Midway through the week, we explore central Madrid’s lively fabric and haberdashery shops—an exciting outing that lets kids dive into the world of textiles. There, kids get to explore fabrics, colors, and textures, and choose materials for their final project. It’s an inspiring, hands-on way to learn about various textiles and spark their creativity.
Thursday & Friday
Back in the studio, it’s time to bring their ideas to life! We prepare a simple pattern, cut the fabric, and sew a unique garment using the materials they selected on the trip. Every child completes a project they can proudly take home.
Daily Rhythm
Each day includes a relaxed mid-morning break. We head outside to have a snack on the benches in front of the studio, just next to Madrid Río, giving kids time to rest and socialize.
Group Size
To ensure each child gets plenty of guidance and support, our groups are limited to 4 students.
about the teacher
Hi! I'm Karu, founder of Studio Costura. With years of experience in garment production, patternmaking, and teaching sewing to both adults and children, I love helping students build their confidence and creativity through sewing.
I'm also a mom to a 10-year-old, so I know how to connect with kids and create a fun, safe, and supportive environment where they can thrive. I’ve been teaching sewing camps for kids for many years, you can find my tips about teaching kids in this blog post.

Summer Camp Terms
Reservation Fee: A deposit of €80 is required to reserve a spot.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel more than one month before the start of the camp, the reservation fee will be fully refunded. If you cancel less than one month before, the reservation fee is non-refundable.
Final Payment: Three weeks before the camp begins, you will receive an email with payment instructions for the remaining balance, along with any authorization forms and documents to bring on the first day.
Refunds: If a student is unable to attend, we will refund 40% of the total amount if cancellation is made up to one week before the camp begins.
Unfortunately, no refunds can be given for cancellations made within one week of the start date.
